Week 87

AREA: TucsonMidvale
COMPANION: Elder Edward

Friends and Family,

Monday: Today was a pretty good pday. This morning we had zone sports
which was nice. Other than that we pretty much did our normal things.

Tuesday: For service this morning we helped Brother Collingwood put up
some ceiling fans up in some of the rooms in his house. I had to go up
in the attic and it was so hot up there. Probably about 90-100
degrees. I was sweating so much! They made us lunch afterward which
was nice. Met with Sister Cole and had an interesting time attempting
to have a gospel discussion haha. The member we brought and her got
along very well and had a great time catching up. After her place we
went to Brother Collingwood's again so i could prep for district
meeting. The topic is applying scripture study in teaching and I
thought it would be cool to make Flashcards for everyone to study.

Wednesday: Had a super awesome district meeting today! Since it was
our last district meeting and it was also the first district meeting
of the month and we were going to set goals, I thought it would be
cool to do what I can to get everyone PUMPED! I bought some dry ice
and made fog, played some pump up talks, and had everyone come in
while that was going on. It was pretty cool, we then set some awesome
goals and we are  pumped! After district meeting we went home for
lunch and then headed out to Sells for the Scripture study class.
Before that, brother Collingwood gave us a call and asked if we would
pick some things up for him at this window screen place. Did that and
headed to sells and then had a great time out there. Went to
McDonald's with Brother Collingwood before going home because we
didn't have dinner.

Thursday: This morning we had to help brother Collingwood again with
one of the ceiling fans. This time Elder Edward went up there though
so that was nice of him:) After that we went and made some visits and
visited a member who had some very strong opinions about doctrine in
the church that weren't necessarily bad... they just could offend
people very much.

Friday: Weekly planning day! Other than that we had a nice visit with
Kim, gave her a blessing because she was getting surgery, and then
spent he rest of the evening with Henry for dinner.

Saturday: today we spent most of the time contacting people in the
ward/potential investigators we have. Wasn't too bad. We talked with a
few of the members and it was a pretty successful finding session.
Interviewed someone for baptism which was great. On the way home we
went to the San Javier Catholic mission. It was beautiful and sooo
old. It was built in the 1600's! Ended the night with getting transfer
news. I am getting transferred to Safford! Looking forward to it big
time. I will be serving me in a YSA branch and a family ward. Should
be a blast!

Sunday: Happy Easter! Had a very good sacrament service this morning.
There were a lot of members there with their husbands who weren't
members which was cool. Went to Sells for sacrament meeting and the
group was smaller than usual which was unfortunate. On the way home
from Sells we stopped by to say goodbye to Faith. We stopped seeing
her for lessons but I wanted to say goodbye to them before leaving.
Spent most of the rest of my evening with the Rees family for our
amazing Easter dinner. It was strange to say goodbye to them,
especially after how long I have been in this church building. It will
be good. Went over to Tyna's after that to see how hannah and her were
doing. We also wanted to check on Wesson and ended up taking him home
again for the night and am going to spend the day with him so we can
show him off at sports haha

HAPPY EASTER!
(Ephesians 2:5-10)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with
Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly
places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his
grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good
works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

I am so grateful for my saviors sacrifice and the gift he has given us
through his sacrifice. Yesterday we celebrated Easter! Which is the
celebration of Christ's resurrection. This event was one of the
greatest events ever to happen in all of history. Because of this
sacrifice, all of us will one day be blessed with the gift of being
resurrected into a perfected body. No matter who we are, we will
receive this gift.

(John 5:28-29)
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that
are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the
resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the
resurrection of damnation.

We all still need to prepare ourselves though to have our spirits
resurrected. Because of the fall of Adam, we all inherited the
affects. We now have to earn our Heavenly Fathers forgiveness and
receive a resurrected spirit that is cleansed through Christ's grace,
so we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again for Eternity.
Christ made it possible for us to return home. We need to want to go
home to have a desire to exercise our faith. Now is the time!

Love you all! Happy Easter! And thank you for everything ☺️
